Lapis Lazuli is a gemstone that could jump right out of the Arabian Nights.
It is a rich deep blue with shimmery inclusions of pyrite that sparkle like golden stars
in the night sky. A grand past Lapis has, and was one of the very first gemstones to be
worn as jewelry. At excavations of ancient cities and cultures, archaeologists have found
many figures and artifacts made of Lapis. In many cultures, particularly in the Middle East,
it has been regarded as a holy stone, and has been thought to have magical powers.
It inspired the name "ultramarine" which means something like "from beyond the sea"

This Lapis gemstone is faceted on the sides, and deep cut faceted in the back. It is cut in a trillion shape (like a triangle)
with the point set to the bottom, and weighs approximatly 11.50 carats. The actual gemstone is 16 by 16mm.
Gem is hand wrapped in 12 gauge sterling silver wire and finished pendant measures 1" wide and 1.5" from top to bottom.
This piece comes ready to wear with an 18" sterling silver 3.2mm cable chain with lobster clasp.
