Let's face it, Buddha is cool. He's always said great stuff, given us hope for the world, and offers peace to our hearts. Buddha speaks from a loving place no matter what your belief. The image evokes a feeling of meditation and peace. Hematite is a grounding stone and I chose a heart shape to exemplify the healing of The Buddha's words. 2.5" long...sweet!
FYI: Buddha means “Awakened One” and Buddha was not actually the name of whom we speak. The person who is generally referred to by the name Buddha was Siddhārtha Gautama, a spiritual teacher born in Nepal and the founder of Buddhism who lived at around 500 BCE.
Magnesite is a mineral (magnesium carbonate) and is an affordable alternative to turquoise, often dyed to resemble it as these Buddha heads are. Always use caution and purchase your turquoise from a reputable dealer since much of the "turquoise" seen out there can actually be dyed magnesite.
