Lovely Laramar also known as blue pectolite is an extremely rare gemstone. It has been found only in one location: a mountainous, relatively inaccessible area in the province of Barahona in the Dominican Republic. It was discovered in 1916, however it wasn’t until 1974 that the stone really became known.

Laramar is a lovely blend of tranquil seas and energy of the sky. Soft and soothing blues melded with calming turquois-y hues and streaked with white patterns that resemble sunlight dancing beneath Caribbean waters.

Considered as a healing stone, Laramar is often placed in a pocket, or worn to bring self-confidence, eloquence in speech, and noted for it's generally calming abilities.

Let me first mention, that every piece you see in this shop is handmade and created by my own hands. I have no assistant or outsourced help to make any of the work seen here. Now then.....This genuine Laramar is lovingly and securely wrapped in .935 Argentium* Silver with a waterfall accent of .935 Argentium Silver beads and is a one of a kind setting, as are all of my settings, since no two ever come out exactly the same. The wire is formed around the stone using no heat, just my bare hands and a simple pair of pliers. Then The formed metal is hard-polished to flatten the round wire in strategic places to enhance and stylize the wrap design. Once that is done, the piece is washed several times to remove any compound left from the polishing wheel, and I begin to weave thinner wires to secure the piece, so that it is as sturdy as if it were set into a casting. Finally, the piece is tumble-washed and polished to a high shine.

The open design of my work with these stones is much different than other popularly advertised Larimar pieces or Larimar found as souvenirs on the islands. That is just my style, and I love the fact that there is no place on the stone that is completely covered or sealed...I believe in this way, the energy is freer flowing so one may enjoy and visualize the maximum healing benefits from this and any other stone like it in my shop.
